We Are One Musicians! 3rd fundraising concert went amazing! Wanted to thank all of you for participating and helping us raise money for our local musicians. It's been a little over a year since the inception of AVB Records, and in that year, with two concerts, we raised $25k and all of it was spent on supplementing gig fees, recording costs, paying rent and car insurance for some of our local Southbay musicians.

GUITAR GIVEAWAY
I can't think of a better job in my life than getting to tell kids that I had a free guitar to give them! Through my work with LACM, I had the opportunity to work with FreeGuitars4Kids and giveaway over 150 guitars to young, aspiring musicians throughout Southern California. So many of the recipients were impacted by the wildfires in southern California, and giving the gift of music to those that lost so much has reminded of the importance of community work. Though it was grulling to call 150+ students, teachers, and parents during a busy holiday season, I felt only joy when everything came together. Our LACM teachers were on-site to give group lessons and we even had musicians from the band DAWES come to personally hand out guitars to the lucky kids. I even got to run my own mini-giveaway with Stratford School in Altadena for the extra guitars we had on hand - all while dressed as an official elf of Santa. I am proud to have been involved, happy to have met so many amazing people, and pleased to already be working on next year's guitar giveaway!

SOUTH BAY MUSIC CONNECTION
Saxy proudly supported the rising young musicians of South Bay Music Connection at this year’s Riviera Village Summer Festival. Kim and the SBMC team continue to do an incredible job creating opportunities for young talent to shine at festivals and venues throughout the South Bay — including their monthly performances at Project Barley. Looking forward to sharing the stage with this inspiring crew again soon and cheering on the next generation of local artists!
